The Duke CRNA Service Award was presented to Janet Goral in February 2013.
Her peer wrote, “Having had the privilege of working with Janet for many years, I remain in awe of her dedication to all patients, but especially the pediatric population and their families. Since many of these patients return time and again to the OR, they feel at ease and comforted when they see that Janet is involved in their child’s care.
She is requested by anesthesiologists and staffers to be involved in some the most critical and challenging cases. As a clinical lead, she has mentored many of the junior staff and has increased the interest in pursuing a place as a pediatric specialist. Additionally, she thrives on the educational aspect of teaching the Duke SRNAs. Many have commented about the vast amount of knowledge she possesses and willingly shares.”
A $25 donation will be made in her name to the Duke Children’s Hospital Fund.
Please know that Janet’s peers both nominated and selected her for this award.
About the Award
CRNA’s at DUMC are nominated by their peers to be recognized for acts of service, at home or abroad. The nominees are voted on by a rotating group of CRNA’s. The winner receives a certificate, a $25 donation in their name to the Duke Children’s Hospital fund, and his or her name engraved on a plaque.
