Jennifer Hauck, MD, graduated from the Feagin Leadership Program on May 16, 2015.
The Feagin Leadership Program serves as an incubator and catalyst for a nationwide transformation of medical education by emphasizing leadership development through the continuum of professional education. The scholars participate in a year-long leadership development curriculum that includes seminars, workshops, conferences, coaching, mentorship, and a team project. Each team of 6 scholars designs and implements a major “deliverable” and in the process learns the intricacies of effective teamwork. Scholars are selected in a competitive process from Duke and Duke–National Univeristy Singapore medical students, and Duke graduate medical education residents and fellows.
Dr. Hauck is the first such graduate from our department. Dr. Jon Andrews, an incoming intern to our department, is a Feagin Leader class of 2014. We hope that their experiences inspire other Anesthesiology trainees to participate in this program.
