We are pleased to announce Dr. Tim Miller as the permanent chief of the General, Vascular, and Transplant (GVT) Division, effective January 1, 2016.
Dr. Miller is an associate professor of anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center and was appointed as clinical director of Abdominal Transplant Anesthesiology in April of last year. Dr. Miller’s clinical and research interests include enhanced recovery and perioperative optimization of the high-risk, non-cardiac surgery patient. He is the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts, editorials, and book chapters. Dr. Miller joined the Duke faculty in 2007 and established the Duke Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Program in partnership with the Department of Surgery in 2010, making it one of the first-of-its-kind in the country. He is also a founding member and vice-president of the American Society for Enhanced Recovery (ASER).
