Fist Bump for Dr. Mike Manning

Fist Bump for Dr. Grace DeSena
Dr. DeSena showed incredible dedication to excellent patient care. She communicated with the surgical team regarding the patient's severe thrombocytopenia, coordinated following through with hematology recommendations, helped her colleagues when her own case was on hold, and stayed late to start the case so the patient's care would not be delayed despite knowing she may have an extended shift. Thank you for taking such great care of your patients! - Dr. Sandy An
Fist Bump for Dr. Stefana Voicu and CRNA Heather Lenzmeier
Stefana went above and beyond on the Inpatient Pain Service, particularly with a complex MVC patient. She successfully managed a difficult femoral catheter placement, showcasing amazing technical skills. Heather, thank you for being a true patient advocate and alerting IPS to the surgical team’s concerns regarding the catheter during prone positioning and the consideration to remove it. Stefana and Heather re-dressed the catheter, prevented potential pressure injuries, and convinced the team to maintain the catheter. Thank you for advocating for this patient's entire post-op course. 10/10.
