Fellowship Opportunities

FELLOWSHIP IN TRANSLATIONAL PERIOPERATIVE GENOMIC RESEARCH:

The Department of Anesthesiology and the Perioperative Genomics Program at Duke University School of Medicine are currently accepting applications for a combined two- or three-year fellowship position in Translational Perioperative Genomic Research and Clinical Cardiothoracic Anesthesia starting July 2008 and 2009. This unique training program is structured as an initial one to two years of dedicated translational research with an emphasis on applications of genomic technologies to perioperative organ injury and protection, followed by a one-year clinical core in cardiothoracic anesthesiology and critical care medicine, including clinical rotations in transesophageal echocardiography, cardiothoracic intensive care, adult and congenital cardiac, and thoracic anesthesia. Additional opportunities to acquire more intense training in genomic medicine are available. Candidates from the US or the international anesthesia community, holding an MD or an MD/PhD degree and with previous experience in molecular biology are invited to apply. Proficiency with computational biology techniques will be considered a plus. Please send CV and letter of interest to:
