Vision and Mission Statement

Purpose:

To increase awareness of the spectrum of clinical practice in Anesthesiology and encourage medical students to explore career opportunities within the field of Anesthesiology.

Vision:

The AIG will provide a wider range of exposure to Anesthesiology than is available through the Duke School of Medicine curricular experience, with opportunities for mentorship, education, and hands-on experience with Anesthesiology faculty and residents.

Mission:

The Duke University School of Medicine AIG shall:

• Educate medical students about Anesthesiology through lectures, discussions, research presentations, and informal social events.
• Provide opportunities for medical students to learn technical skills inherent to the practice of Anesthesiology through hands-on workshops and physician shadowing programs.
• Facilitate the mentorship of medical students by pairing interested students with faculty members and residents.
