Dr. Jeff Taekman Joining New ASA Ad Hoc Committee

Dr. Jeff Taekman in the Simulation LabDr. Jeff Taekman was recently appointed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) to serve on a newly-formed Ad Hoc Committee on Screen-Based Simulation. He will be joining six other anesthesiologists from renowned hospitals and institutions across the U.S. The objective of this Ad Hoc Committee will be to gain insight into any proposed changes in the practice or recommendations for anesthesia in order to guide the screen-based simulation product development in the anesthesia market.

Dr. Taekman is the Assistant Dean for Educational Technology, the Director of the Human Simulation and Patient Safety Center (HSPSC), a Neuroanesthesiologist in the Duke University School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology, and faculty in the Duke Clinical Research Institute.
