The Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University is pleased to present the 19th Annual Duke Anesthesiology Conference – Controversies in Perioperative Medicine. This scientific conference will be held June 18-22, 2018 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando, Florida. Over the course of five days, we will discuss issues surrounding the management of patients undergoing surgery via lectures, panel discussions, lively debates and hands-on practical workshops.
The conference will offer a comprehensive curriculum focused on surgery, anesthesia, and critical care. We will have both plenary sessions and small group workshops for participants to familiarize themselves with new equipment and techniques.
This conference is suitable for anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurse anesthetists, perioperative nurses, students and all health care providers involved in the perioperative care of patients.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe evidence based management of perioperative issues in complex surgical patients
- Describe the value of imaging in perioperative medicine
- Review the current understanding of strategies to enhance post-surgical outcomes
