3rd-Year Medical Students Sharpen Their Skills

“MS-MOCA” (Medical Student-Maintenance of Clinical Acumen) kicked off Monday, August 31st. Designed by Duke Anesthesiology faculty, this third-year medical student initiative is an elective experience that targets procedural and clinical skills during the research year of their Duke University School of Medicine curriculum. Dr. Nancy Knudsen led the first group of students through a two-hour session that included ultrasound education with placement of central and arterial lines, as well as practice with airway management techniques. Future sessions will involve additional anesthesia faculty volunteers in this program, designed to allow students to maintain their clinical skills during this unique educational year.
