During a recent spine case, we encountered massive arterial bleeding and the patient rapidly decompensated. With limited staffing, Dr. Boateng from the SICU, Dr. Melnick and Larry from OB, and CA-1 Adam Brown came to provide tremendous help with resuscitation. Dr. Manning was a calm and collected leader during this situation while Emily pushed drugs to maintain hemodynamics. Our techs, Emily and Rodney (not pictured), made repeated runs to the blood bank, brought the Belmont, and sent labs. Danielle was in another spine case that had required MTP earlier but was independently able to manage the patient. With this team, we were able to stabilize and supinate the patient, transport to K2, and eventually get to the neuro ICU. - Andrew Whang, MD
