Guest Judge: Dr. Oluwaseun Johnson-Akeju of Harvard
This centennial year, Duke Anesthesiology is proud to announce the 32nd Annual Academic Evening, a distinguished event commemorating scientific excellence and scholarly activity within our department. As the pinnacle of our research endeavors, this celebration gathers junior-level investigators and faculty to present more than 100 abstracts and posters, spanning diverse areas of study including basic science, clinical trials, case reports, and quality improvement projects. Moreover, Academic Evening serves as a catalyst for fostering new collaborations and partnerships among our esteemed colleagues, amplified by the presence of our guest judge, Dr. Oluwaseun Johnson-Akeju of Harvard, who will review the work and preside over the selection of winners across the seven award categories, some of which bear the names of esteemed departmental members, perpetuating their remarkable legacy in Duke Anesthesiology. As we reflect upon more than three decades of progress since the event's inception, the steadfast goal of Academic Evening remains unchanged - to propel the field of anesthesia, critical care, and pain management forward, ultimately enhancing the care of our patients.
