The Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA) has named Duke Anesthesiology’s Anne Cherry, MD, as the recipient of the inaugural 2024 SCA Presidential Citation.
This award recognizes Cherry’s invaluable contributions to the field of cardiovascular anesthesia through research and education. The Presidential Citation is awarded at the discretion of the SCA president.
“So much of what I've been able to do at the SCA has been because of great mentors and colleagues here at Duke,” says Cherry, associate professor of anesthesiology, who joined Duke Anesthesiology faculty in 2013 and serves as the assistant director of the department’s Clinical Research Unit. “My mentors here showed me where there was opportunity for me at the SCA; then whenever I have seen that there is work to be done there, I have been able to step up to do it because of supportive colleagues (who often also give great advice!). Thank you all!"
Cherry received the Presidential Citation on April 29 at the SCA’s annual meeting in Toronto.
