Background and Research Interests

I received my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. I paired it with a minor in Bioengineering with the intention of pursuing research in Neural Engineering in graduate school. After graduating, I attended the University of Florida for my PhD in Biomedical Engineering, joining the Oweiss lab to learn about bidirectional brain-machine interfaces. My research focused on in vivo calcium imaging and optogenetics during decision-making behavior in the posterior parietal cortex. I joined the Donnelly lab as a post-doctoral associate, investigating the dynamics of peripheral neurons in the trigeminal ganglion during chronic pain. I hope to continue to develop a multidisciplinary approach to neural engineering and in vivo behavior throughout my career.
