Dr. DeSena showed incredible dedication to excellent patient care. She communicated with the surgical team regarding the patient's severe thrombocytopenia, coordinated following through with hematology recommendations, helped her colleagues when her own case was on hold, and stayed late to start the case so the patient's care would not be delayed despite knowing she may have an extended shift.
