Faculty Complete the Escape Room Challenge

This year's new global health fundraiser, the Escape Room Challenge, raised a total of $4,520. All funds raised directly support our residents' mission trips abroad, covering the cost of their travel, vaccinations and more. After much anticipation, the winner of this challenge is...the faculty team!

Congratulations to both the resident and faculty teams on their fundraising efforts and for escaping the "A Study in Murder" Clue-style room at Bull City Escape. There was only a 34-second difference in the teams' escape times. The faculty team completed their challenge with one minute, 21 seconds left on the clock, with four of the five handicaps (they wore three Duke foam hands, ear plugs, headphones, and one person couldn't talk). The resident team completed their challenge with 47 seconds left on the clock, with three of the five handicaps (they wore three Duke foam hands, ear plugs and headphones). Each team had 60 minutes to follow the clues, determine the killer's identity and escape! Both teams were recorded during their challenge. Stay tuned for an Escape Room Challenge highlight video that will be shown during Dr. Joseph Mathew’s annual Chair's Grand Rounds on Wednesday, October 2nd.
