We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new assistant residency program directors (APDs), Drs. Ryan Gessouroun, Jemma Kang, Jamie Privratsky, Ankeet Udani (interim), and Beth Wilson, effective immediately. Each of these faculty members have consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to education, mentorship, and clinical excellence, proving uniquely qualified to cultivate the next generation of physicians. Their leadership will be a vital component in maintaining our high standards of graduate medical education.
Our nationally recognized Duke Anesthesiology Residency Program provides a robust foundation, equipping residents with the comprehensive training required to manage complex clinical cases across a broad spectrum of patient populations. Collectively, our APDs' contributions to this mission have already left an enduring impression on our current house staff. Together, they will work alongside our residency program director, Dr. Brandi Bottiger, to refine our core curriculum, champion resident well-being, and elevate our recruitment strategies on a national scale.
Please join us in offering our warmest congratulations to our newest APDs as they step into their leadership roles. We also want to extend my deepest gratitude to our outgoing leadership team for their outstanding dedication and tireless service to the program. We are grateful to Dr. Sarah Cotter for her stewardship over the past two years and to Dr. Angela Pollak for providing nearly five years of steady, transformative guidance.
We are confident that our new APDs will build beautifully upon this strong foundation they have built, bringing the energy, vision, and dedication needed to advance the academic mission of our department.
