2014 Resident Graduation Wrap-Up

On Saturday, June 21st, 2014, the Department of Anesthesiology celebrated the 2014 Resident Graduates with great company, live music, and good food!  The banquet was held at Hope Valley Country Club in Durham.

The chief residents presented Dr. John Eck with the Robert N. Sladen Teacher of the Year Award.  Dr. Matthew Mauck was presented with the Outstanding Graduation Resident Award.

The resident leadership was recognized for their contributions: Drs. Dionne Peacher and William Nelson, Chief Residents; Dr. Matthew Mauck, Academic Chief Resident; and Drs. Claire Dakik and Matthew McDaniel, Teaching Scholars.

The department also recognized the 2014 Medical Student Awards.  Drs. Amber Franz and Keila Maher received the Medical Student Resident Teachers of the Year awards. The Outstanding Resident Contribution to Medical Education award went to Dr. Kayla Bryan. Dr. Nancy Knudsen received the Medical Student Faculty Recognition Award, and Dr. Brian Ohlendorf was presented with the Outstanding Faculty Contribution to Medical Education award.
