Patients can email their physician/provider using Duke MyChart ONLY IF they’ve seen them in an office setting (ie: if a physician performed surgery on a patient but the patient did not have an office visit with that physician prior to surgery, they cannot use Duke MyChart to email the physician).
Patients who have seen their physician/provider in an office setting should be provided with an office number they can call if they have further questions.
Patients are asked to direct questions to their physician/surgeon at their follow-up (postoperative) appointment, or to their primary care doctor who can get in touch with that patient’s physician/surgeon.
